Chinese Churches

One of my objectives in all my communications about China is to show that churches in China are many, active, and varied. Many of the churches I have visited are those I found while on travels related to other activities, such as Amity's Summer English Program, Amity teachers winter conferences, visiting friends, or touring in China. When I am in a city, if my activities do not otherwise take me to a church, I will ask a taxi driver to take me. Usually they will know where the churches are.

I will then make my way inside the gate and search out someone to show me around and tell me something of the church's history and current situation, membership, annual baptisms, etc. So, some of the photos in this section will be of empty buildings, because I visited during a weekday, though even then, there may be activities going on: prayer meetings, Bible studies, choir practice, etc.. Other photo stories will be taken on occasions when I have been privileged to share worship with the Chinese Christians.
